As the Vice President of Mortgage Operations and Sales, Will Clark, works hard to manage and grow the mortgage department at Citizens Bank. Not only does he get to work with a talented and knowledgeable team, he is passionate about giving customers the best possible mortgage experience.
Describe your position at Citizens Bank
My job is to manage the day-to-day operations of the mortgage department here at Citizens Bank. It is also my job to grow the current market by seeking out experienced talent to generate mortgage loans of all varieties; whether that be construction loans, retail mortgage loans or home equity loans, I work to find people who will make the customer experience go as efficiently as possible. Not only do I work hard to grow the mortgage department, but I am also lucky to already have a cohesive team with the same goal in mind, a team with passion and talent who enjoy collaborating with one another.
What is your favorite part about working for Citizens?
I have learned a lot in my time in banking, and I love being able to use that talent to grow and enhance the mortgage market. I have a wonderful team of employees here who have a passion for enhancing and encouraging more growth. I couldn’t be happier than I am here at Citizens Bank!
Did you work in this field before coming to Citizens?
I have worked a variety of banking roles before coming to Citizens Bank. Not only have I had positions like my current role, but I have also worked in commercial lending, consumer lending, compliance, retail and real estate. These roles have given me well rounded experience in systems and workflow, operations management, sales management, consumer lending, servicing, and retail administration, which all help me be the best that I can be in my current position.
What motivates you?
Since the day my sons were born, they have motivated me to reach for success. Now, I’m blessed to have the most wonderful grandson, who motivates me to work hard, so I can retire and spend more of my days with him.
Who inspires you?
My grandson inspires me in so many ways. Because of him, I want to be a better person and I want to make the world a happier place.
What are you passionate about?
Professionally, I am passionate about the customer service aspect of the transaction. I want to make sure that from start to finish, and beyond, the customer is taken care of in a way that is done with the utmost concern.
Personally, I am passionate about pushing my own boundaries and improving myself day after day. Each day, I make sure that when I wake up that I put as much effort into my day as I did the day before.
What kinds of things do you like to do for fun?
I love to cook. I love to travel. I love spending time with my grandson, my family, and my friends.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
I want to go to some country somewhere with street markets. I want to stay in a little villa, where I go down to the street market to pick fresh fruits and vegetables. I want to come back to the villa to cook the fresh foods and make a feast!
Speaking of food, what is your favorite thing to cook?
I am a certified Italian chef, so I love cooking Italian food. I love to make lasagna and baked spaghetti. Anytime I have a problem, I cook through it!
What is your favorite day of the week?
Monday, because you get to start all over again and make everything right.
What else do you want customers to know about you?
If ever a mortgage need arises, where you need someone to talk to, I want you to know that I have sat in your shoes. I want you to know that I am going to handle whatever is going on with your mortgage in the same way I would want my mortgage handled. I have experienced loss, I have experienced homeownership, and I have experienced buying a house in the crazy way the market is right now. I am going to keep all these things in mind when I am working to help you.
