With a heart for the Hendricks County community, Mortgage Loan Officer, Kim Baver, is ready to get to know your hopes and dreams so she can find the best products for you!
Describe what you do for Citizens Bank.
I am a Mortgage Loan Officer for Citizens Bank. This position gives me an opportunity to work with individuals in our community, on purchasing, refinancing, or building their own home.
How did you find your way into banking?
Being in the community is important to me and this job is all about the people in our community. Mortgages are an investment and many find themselves with questions. I have several homes myself, which helped me learn about mortgage loan products. I reached out to someone about refinancing my house and ended up deciding to do mortgage lending myself!
What is your favorite part of the job so far?
It’s the people. Since I walked in the door, it’s about the connections, the mortgage team, the branch staff, it’s wonderful to be able to work with such a good group of individuals meeting the needs in the community.
What motivates you?
I would have to say, time with people. I love getting to know people and finding out what people like to do and what kinds of goals and dreams they have. I want to be able to help support people while they achieve their dreams and goals
Who inspires you?
Susan Rozzi, she pushes me to do what I can do. She is my cheerleader, my motivator and someone who inspires me greatly. I met her through Leadership Hendricks County, I am so grateful to have worked with her and had her on my team. Leadership Hendricks County is such an amazing program, and it gives you such an opportunity to see the strengths in the Hendricks County community and how you can become a part of it.
What are you passionate about?
My family. I love spending time with my girls and husband. I have 2 daughters in Plainfield schools and a wonderful husband. His job brought us to Hendricks County in 2008 and we’ve felt so connected in the community that we’ve stayed here.
Second, I’m passionate about volunteering. It’s about the change that we can do individually to make an impact in the community. I volunteer with Leadership Hendricks County, Plainfield Chamber, Plainfield Schools and Hendricks County Community Foundation.
What do you do for fun?
I love to travel! If you can get me near water, it’s even better. I grew up in Michigan, so I have a heart for being near the lakes.
If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?
I still want to get to Hawaii. My husband and I set a goal to go for our 20th anniversary, and didn’t get there, but it’s still on our list!
My favorite place I’ve been so far is Disney. There’s something magical about that place. It’s so wonderful to see the joy it brings my kids! They keep asking to go back, so we definitely will eventually.
What is your favorite food?
Seafood! If I can get anywhere that’s close to the ocean to get any kind of seafood, I will take it! Shrimp, crab legs, lobster, fish – you name it, I love it!
Is there anything else you want people to know about you?
It’s really important for me to get to know my customers. I want to know your dreams and aspirations so I can help you get the mortgage products that are best for you!
